Welcome to our Website, Journal and insights on a Midlife journey that began with our young daughter in 2005. It started with a desire to take Time Off from the fast pace of life to live a dream ----and figure out the next phase of life.
As a result From 2005 to 2008 we lived in France, rejuvenating, recreating, and relearning how to live a balanced quality life.
Aug 2008 we transitioned back to the Marin county, California as we continue the journey with a commitment to living healthy, joyous and balanced. We recognize more than ever how difficult that is in our society. Daily we are confronted with decisions to make that lead us toward or away from creating the lives we desire. Daily we are choosing to go towards our dreams.
Having taken the time off has changed us and so the mystery of finding the quality of life faces us everyday. For now we will be living primarily in Marin county (with visits to France) and experiencing and writing about transition, change, and keeping alive what we have learned from living in France. Not an easy feat, but one we are determined to keep. We hope you continue to be with us on our journey. The future is still to come, but for now we live in the present, planning, living, dreaming, and making conscious choices day by day.
This blog contains both our experience living, loving, and learning what is imporant in life by being an expat in France and how these learnings can be brought back to living a healthy joyous balanced life in fast paced urban areas.

Before Angelina and Brad, wife and husband Suzanne Saxe-Roux and Jean. P. Roux and their young daughter escaped to the South of France to learn how to live again.

Excerpt from the Intro:
As our time off was approaching we also realized this was a much needed opportunity to determine how we wanted to live our lives going forward with increased quality, time, creativity and new increased passion in our work. Like many people we had been living at "life speed," barely having time for ourselves, our child or creativity. For many years we enjoyed this California lifestyle and even thrived on it. Over the last five years we had small signs that something wasn't right. I felt pulled between being a new mother at 45 and being a professional career women and business owner. 911 happened, Jean's twelve year old niece got run over bya truck on a bicycle, my business partner died, Jean was laid off from a stressful corporate job and he started a doctorate program in Psychology, the dot com crash put us into a tailspin with the business and investments, I had a car accident, we were spending money left and right on paying for services that others could provide for us so we would be free to work. Then I turned 50, I didn't have my heart into work anymore, both our priorities were changing and we knew the time had come in which we said outloud this is no longer working and we have to make a change. This part of our lives is done.
